It causes a pole shift? A what?

The idea of a shifting of the alignment of the earth has been
around for a few years. The pole shift involves a sliding of the
crust of the earth over the mantle. Once the shift has occurred,
there is a different area of the globe at the north and south poles,
therefore a pole shift

This was a big part of Velikovsky's theories about an encounter
with Venus. Charles Hapgood proposed a pole shift due to the
weight of the polar ice caps. Psychic Edgar Cayce actually
predicted a pole shift to occur in 2000-2001. Many of these
cited the same historical evidence of frozen mammoths,
extinction's and signs of climate change in different parts of
the world. There are many sites that discuss such evidence
and a few are listed on the links page.

The unique part that Zetatalk adds to these ideas is the stopping
of the Earth. Yes, that's right, according to Zetatalk the Earth
will stop rotating over a period of days, then the core shifts
dragging the crust part of the way, and then the Earth starts
rotating again.

To explain something this silly, Zetatalk claims that the
rotation of the Earth is due to the gravitational pull in our area.
The gravity of Planet X forces the Earth to stop. The next
wild theory is that the magnetism of Planet X pulls the core of
the Earth to align with it, dragging the crust part of the way for
the actual pole shift. As Planet X moves away, the Earth
resumes it's rotation.

Hard to believe? Read for yourself. Amazingly bad fiction. The
forces necessary to do this would literally destroy the Earth.
